Odoo is an ERP platform covering invoicing, inventory, HR, CRM, manufacturing, e-commerce, and more in a single integrated system. It comes in two editions: open-source Odoo Community and licensed Odoo Enterprise (Odoo editions). It is highly customizable, its Standard and Custom plans include all apps for a single per-user fee (Odoo pricing), and it scales from small businesses to large enterprises with hundreds of users.

A typical implementation takes 4 to 12 weeks depending on the number of modules, data migration complexity, and custom development. Simple setups with standard modules can go live in as little as 3 weeks. Complex multi-company deployments may take 3 to 6 months.

Costs vary based on the number of users, modules, customizations, and integrations. Odoo Community is free to use, while Odoo Enterprise has per-user licensing. Implementation services range from a few thousand euros for basic setups to larger investments for enterprise deployments. We provide a detailed quote after a free discovery call.

Yes. Data can be migrated from SAP Business One, Exact Online, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, and legacy systems. We map your existing data structures, clean and validate records, and perform test migrations before the final switchover to minimize risk and downtime.

Yes. Belgium made structured B2B e-invoicing over Peppol mandatory from 1 January 2026, and Odoo can connect to Peppol itself: Odoo acts as both an access point and an SMP, and Peppol registration is free and available in Odoo Community (Odoo documentation). We configure the registration, the UBL invoice format and the automated routing of invoices to your clients and suppliers.

Yes. Odoo is built by Odoo SA, which has its headquarters and research and development in Grand-Rosière, Belgium, and further Belgian offices in Louvain-la-Neuve and Antwerp, according to Odoo's own company page. Rui Codex is a separate company: we implement, integrate and customise Odoo for businesses in Belgium.

Yes. Odoo's Belgian localization includes the Belgian chart of accounts (PCMN/MAR), Belgian reports such as the Partner VAT Listing, EC Sales List and Intrastat, and filing VAT returns to Intervat directly from Odoo, according to Odoo’s Belgium documentation.

Yes. In a multi-company Odoo database each company can use its own fiscal localization. Odoo advises setting up entities in different countries as separate companies rather than branches, because branches follow the parent company's localization (Odoo documentation). On Odoo's paid plans, multi-company is listed on the Custom plan (Odoo pricing).

In 2025, 62.45% of Belgian enterprises with at least 10 employees used ERP software to share information between business functions, above the EU figure of 46.45%, according to Eurostat. Businesses with fewer than 10 employees are not covered by that survey.

According to Odoo pricing, the Standard plan runs on Odoo Online, Odoo's cloud for databases without custom modules. The Custom plan can use Odoo Online at no extra cost, Odoo.sh, Odoo's platform for development, staging and production branches with custom modules (its hosting is charged separately), or your own servers. A database can change hosting later, but Odoo Online does not accept non-standard apps (Odoo documentation).

Plan for it. According to Odoo's support policy, standard support for Odoo 17.0 ended in September 2026, and for 18.0 it is planned to end in September 2027. After that, bug fixes and security updates come only through paid extended support, which Odoo offers on Odoo.sh for a limited number of versions and on-premise for any version, but not on Odoo Online. Odoo upgrades a standard Enterprise database itself; what you plan for is your custom and third-party modules, which have to be ported to the new version and tested against a copy of your data. An upgrade can only target a version that is still under standard support, or that left it less than six months ago, so waiting usually means a bigger jump later.
